Little Nightmares 3

During my time at Supermassive games I worked on the Little Nightmares 3 project. My role oversaw both Gameplay and Level design for sections of the game that were assigned to me. A major contribution from myself is the Single Player side of the game, going from an early prototype version of the player companion all the way to a final, polished and deliverable version. Here are some areas that I covered during my time on the project:

  • Taking briefs for areas of the game and creating White box versions that can be play tested and passed over to other disciplines.

  • Applying any feedback for the White box versions of levels in a timely manner.

  • Prototyping gameplay elements using Unreal Engines blueprint system, sequencer system and systems unique to Little Nightmares.

  • Designing and Building areas that work both Locally for Single player and have replication for Multiplayer.

  • As one of the longest serving members of the team, I would often act as a knowledge base for the tools and systems we use for other designers.

  • Ownership of the Design side of Single player. This includes working closely with Programmers to develop and reiterate the companion system, Implementing the system across all levels in the game and applying feedback to Single player if received.
